FAQ

Have questions about our services? Find answers to some commonly asked questions below.

Is Observation Assistant an evaluation tool?

Observation Assistant is designed for growth, not evaluation. Reports provide zero-stakes feedback and evidence teachers can use to reflect and improve, while administrators gain reliable insights to guide coaching conversations.

How does Observation Assistant protect data privacy?

We are fully FERPA and Ed-Law 2-d (NYS) compliant. Audio is automatically deleted after transcription, PII is redacted, and our AI partners do not train on or store your data. Reports remain in your account until you choose to delete them.

How long does it take to get a report?

Reports are typically ready within minutes of uploading classroom audio, giving teachers and administrators timely, actionable insights.

How can I improve the audio capture?

Using an inexpensive Bluetooth Rode lav mic like this or an upgraded version like this might help. These systems come with two mics, one for you and one for the room.
